The purpose of the course if to help participants recognize and respond appropriately to cardiac, breathing and first aid emergencies. This will prepare you for caring for a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive to take over. This course combines CPR instruction for adults, children, and infants with first aid training focused on adult medical emergencies.
Instruction is delivered in an instructor-led format with hands-on skills practice. Instructors observe performance, provide coaching, and guide skill development to support practical competence in CPR, AED use, and adult first aid.
Individuals who are not healthcare providers or professional rescuers but desire, or are required, to be certified in First Aid and CPR and the use of an AED:
Teachers, After School Programs, Summer Camps/Camp Counselors, Social Workers, Foster/Adoptive Parents, Police Officers, Security and Airline Personnel, Construction Workers, Life Guards, Coaches, Fitness Trainers, Childcare Providers, Nannies, Babysitters and others.
COURSE LENGTH: Course is scheduled for 6 hours and includes times for breaks/lunch to allow for adequate questions, discussion, review, hands-on practice and coaching.
COURSE COMPLETION CARD (2-year certification):
E-cards/E-certificates typically are emailed same-day or next day. Please allow consideration for weekends and holidays, where distribution of cards may take 1-2 business days. By request, a letter of proof of completion, can be supplied in lieu of receiving E-card.
